There are places where the water doesn't arrive by river or by built-up rain: it's born right there, from the ground, with a force that gives the place its name. The Olhos da Fervença are springs that supply Cantanhede and surrounding municipalities, which says a lot about what you've got under your feet when you get here.
Praia Fluvial dos Olhos da Fervença isn't a beach you pass through. It's an inland spot with a character of its own, where the water is cold and clean with that spring-water feel that doesn't forgive. You come to get in the water, not to pose for photos.
The area keeps a human scale: it's not a water amusement park, there are no crowds. It's Cantanhede in its most direct mode, with earth, trees and water coming out of the limestone of the Maciço da Boa Viagem right beside it. When you dive in, you're literally inside the source.
