the smallest in the network has a bench at the entrance
Comareira is the smallest village in the Aldeias do Xisto network. A few houses nestled together on a sunny slope, and a bench at the entrance facing the view that stretches as far as the eye can see. It's not a long visit, it's a pause.
It's part of the cluster of four Aldeias do Xisto in Góis and falls within the Ecomuseu das Tradições do Xisto, based in the neighbouring Aigra Nova. There's no museum nucleus of its own here: what you have is the village at minimum scale and sun all day.
The residents take pride in saying it's a strategic stop for anyone looking for river beaches or the Parque Florestal da Oitava. What you're here for is to stop. You sit on the bench, stay a while, and then decide where you're heading next.
